Woman Charged with Drug-Related Crimes and DUI

A woman was driving her Dodge Van through Spring Hill, Florida in Hernando County when local deputies began to notice erratic driving. Certain behaviors that were noted included swerving across three lanes, an inability to maintain a controlled speed, as well as swerving into the grass alongside the road. The deputies went to pull the woman over by using their emergency lights, however, the van refused to oblige. Instead, it continued to swerve and hit a curb. When it eventually did pull over, the deputy approached the vehicle.
There they found the defendant, a 35-year-old with the initials of D.B. It has been reported that the defendant was struggling for coherency, continued to fall asleep and was both unable to follow directions or to understand where she was exactly. During this time, the defendant's purse opened and a bag fell out. In this bag there were several pills, which included oxycodone that was possessed without prescription.
The deputy asked D.B. to step outside of the vehicle to perform several routine field sobriety tests. She had difficult standing and was taken to the local jail. There she was officially charged with a DUI, possession without prescription, as well as possession of a legend drug.
