Buccaneers Receiver Cleared of DUI Charges
In the early morning on Nov. 19 in Tampa, Mike Williams of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was arrested under suspicion of DUI. The receiver was stopped by sheriff's deputies, who say he was swerving and speeding through the streets. According to their report other signs indicated that he may have been intoxicated, which led to the
arrest.
At the jail however, two separate tests determined that his blood alcohol level was .06 and .061, which are below the state BAC limit of .08 percent. He also submitted to a urinalysis, as well as obtaining his own independent test for quicker results. Recently, when the results came back the team reported that his tests showed no signs of any illegal substance.
The attorney's office for Hillsborough County stated that evidence such as a roadside camera at the scene, and the results of the breath tests as well as the urinalysis led to them dropping the case against Williams.
