Indians Player Arrested for DUI
A former Mariner and current Indians baseball player was arrested this week for driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content at more than twice the legal limit in Ohio.
The Indians player was stopped by police after a patrolling officer noticed that he was driving erratically, which suggested intoxication. Earlier in the night he spoke to a patrolman asking for directions, stating that he was lost. He continued to drive and was later stopped after drifting into a bike path and crossing a double-yellow line twice.
The player apologized to fans and the team for his actions, adding that he hoped it would not distract from the organization and the game of baseball.
