Community Service - s. 316.193 (6)(a),
F.S.
Community service is most often required in the case of a Tampa, Florida DUI conviction. According to Florida Statutes, section 316.193 (6)(a), a person may face a mandatory minimum of 50 hours of community service for a first DUI conviction. Or, an option may be available to pay $10 for each hour of required community service.
A lawyer will play a crucial role in the outcome of a Tampa DUI case and whether a driver will face community service as well as the other penalties associated with a conviction, such as fines, imprisonment and driver's license suspension.
Community service is a much better alternative to jail time, however, in many cases all of this can be avoided if you give our office a call.
