Friday, March 4, the pro scouting coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was arrested in the morning for driving under the influence of alcohol. Only a few hours earlier, another former player for the Buccaneers was arrested and charged for committing a crime.
Former tight-end Jerramy Stevens was arrested after punching two bouncers at a bar when he was asked to leave. Stevens reportedly became unruly and was asked to leave the premises.
When the two bouncers approached, Stevens attacked them, breaking one bouncer's jaw. The bouncers took Stevens to the ground until the police arrived. While not arrested for DUI, alcohol was most likely involved in Stevens' behavior.
If Stevens had left the bar and driven his vehicle he would likely have been arrested for DUI and faced criminal charges for DUI as well as felony battery and misdemeanor battery.
DUI charges are extremely serious as they can result in harsh criminal penalties and possibly the suspension of your license, even if you are found innocent. With legal aid from a skilled attorney it may be possible to avoid your charges or have them reduced to a lesser charge or punishment.
